Groundbreaking early Nordic noir, made by Bo Widerberg after seeing French Connection. It’s a bleak and decidedly uncozy mystery, all shot with handheld camera without mounts in documentarian style(parts of the riveting ending action scene was deemed to dangerous by the insurance company and had to be filmed by Widerberg himself). A smash hit on it’s release, 750000 Swedes went to the cinema to see it, and it won the Guldbagge for best movie.
